Impartation 1: Introduction, Definition and Explanation
Apostle Niyi Makinde
Introduction
Impartation is a spiritual system God created for the transference of things of quality from one person to another. Right from the days of the Old saints in the Old Testament books, impartation had always taken place.
Words like bless, anoint, are often synonymous to impartation. In the scripture, Joshua, David, Solomon, Elisha, etc. had themselves imparted by another.
In the New Testament, Jesus imparted His disciples, the apostles imparted many people. In fact, Paul told the believers at Rome that he’s coming to impart them with some spiritual gift.
Definition

James 5:17-18 shows Elijah was a man of prayer. The high Prophetic frequency on Elijah was gotten in prayers.
But in 2 Kings 2:12-15, we see that the mature anointing on Elijah that took time were released freely, quickly and easily on Elisha.
- Impartation makes another man’s labor your reward
- Impartation is one of the ways we enter into the labor of another.
- Impartation makes you get in one day what another got in twenty years.
Explanation
It’s worthy to note that God is the one imparting, men are just the channels.
Two facts to be established:
1. God Can Impart You Directly without Using Any Man
Many say Apostle Niyi Makinde is this and that, he operates in this and that, but the fact is that many of those things are things God impart to me directly. For over five years, God kept me indoors reading the word, fasting daily, praying for hours, etc. There were weeks I didn’t get out of my room. I was always indoor in my room. Most times, the people staying with me in the house may not see me for three days since I just lock myself in the room. It was through this process God imparted me with lots of spiritual things directly. So God can impart you directly.
2. God Can Impart You through Another Man
Men are channels through which God imparts another. God imparted Joshua through Moses, imparted David through Samuel, imparted Elisha through Elijah, imparted Timothy through Paul.
Seven Things that Can Be Imparted to You
Let’s identify seven things that can be imparted by another to you.
1. You Can Be Imparted with Revelation
1 Sam. 3:1; Prov. 29:18; 1 Cor. 14:6; Gal. 2:2
To be imparted with revelation means you are imparted with spiritual information, spiritual knowledge.
2. You Can Be Imparted with Capacity
2 Tim. 4:5; Matt/ 25:15
There are capacity that can be imparted to you.
Capacity is imparted into another through teaching. When you understand what another understand, capacity is released into you.
3. You Can Be Imparted with Spirit
John 6:63; 2 Cor. 12:18; Num. 11:16-17, 24-25; Acts 10:44; Eze. 2:2; 37:10, 2 Kings 2:15
When you hear that mantles are being imparted to another, it’s a way of saying the spirit of another is imparted to another. Mantles also refers to angelic system or presence that works with a man. So, when mantles are imparted, the angelic presence and system working with the original carrier begins to work with the impartee.
The spirit of faith, spirit of boldness, spirit of dominion on another can be imparted to another. Scripture reveals that Joshua was imparted with the spirit of wisdom. The spirit here refers to a force at work in someone. When you receive the spirit in another, you receive the same force driving, speaking and operating in the life of that person.
4. You Can Be Imparted with the Same Level of Faith in Another
2 Cor. 4:13; Luke 17:5-6
This kind of imparted takes place when you hear a teaching or hear about the exploit someone did by faith. I have heard the story told by other preachers how some ministers traveled to far distant cities and countries where they knew nobody and thrived there. Those stories imparted same level of faith into me and moved me to travel to Port Harcourt where I knew nobody and stayed there for over three months.
There are things you will dare when you are imparted with same level of faith. You hear something and you jumped into action to do something.
5. You Can Be Imparted with the Same Lifestyle in Another
2 Tim. 3:10; Phil. 2:19-22
Some are prayerful today because they were imparted with the lifestyle of prayer by another. Many caught diligence from another. Whatever lifestyle isn’t in you is surely in another.
6. You Can Be Imparted with the Same Grace in Another
Eph. 4:29; 2 Cor. 8:1, 6; 2 Pet. 1:2; Phil. 1:7
The grace of another can be imparted into you.
Grace here means the ability, skills, competence, influence of God can be imparted to you. What grace of another man can be imparted to you. This enhances producing results after same order.
7. You Can Be Imparted with Wisdom
Prov. 4:1, 5, 7; 2 Chron. 1:10; 2 Cor. 12:18
When another talks to you, or you read from another, you are being imparted with wisdom. Paul wrote to Timothy to share certain wisdom with him. You are imparted with the wisdom of another when you listen or read the books of another.
