From Glory to Glory 1
Apostle Niyi Makinde
- a. Life or death
- b. Sickness or health
- c. Success or failure
- d. Shame or glory
Proverbs 3:35 reveals that shame is the opposite of glory. Just as you can't have sickness and health together at the same time – you can only have one at once – you can't have both glory and shame at the same time. You can only have one. It is either you have glory or shame. I pray that yours will be glory.
There are four categories of people.
1. Those Who Move from Shame to Shame
These are people that things keep getting worse for them daily. Yesterday was debt, today is additional debt. Yesterday was for headache, today is for cancer. It's bad news for such people daily.
This kind of people never have a good year. The only good thing in a year for them is that they are alive, but there's suffering upon suffering.
Some were born with their shame. The man born blind was born with his shame - John 9:2-11. For years, this man kept moving with his shame but was delivered from the shame one day
Some sinned to get their shame. The man at the pool of Bethesda for thirty eight years wasn't born like that. He sinned. When Jesus found the man in the temple, after He healed the man, He told him never to sin again so that a worse thing wouldn't come upon him - John 5:14. That shows that the man became lame because he sinned. And for thirty eight years, he was moving from shame to shame.
Consistent homelessness, say for ten years, is a sign of moving from shame to shame.
2. Those Who Move from Glory to Shame
This was once in glory but returned to shame. Once an employer but now an employee or even a job-seeker. Once a landlord but now a tenant. They took his house because of a loan he couldn't refund. Nebuchadnezzar was moved out of glory to shame. He was moved out of the palace, and lived in the bush for years.
What can you say of one who was healthy for forty-five years, never visited the hospital but got sick one day and kept treating the sickness till he died at sixty-eight.
What can you say of one who had cars before but has been returned to trekking. All cars are gone and cannot afford to buy even a bicycle.
When you look at the life of Joseph, He was made the Chief Administrator at Portiphar's house, enjoying himself and controlling others. He was a slave but made a controller over other slaves. No slave was put over him. Only his master was over him. But his situation turned awry, he was moved out of his position, moved out of the house and sent into prison. Though we know it was God at work but nobody desires to be a prisoner.
3. Those Who Move from Shame to Glory
This category is of people who were once in shame but somehow, God showed up and they were moved out of shame into glory.
For example, a debtor is in shame, but when such now owns a bank that lends to others, such has moved out of shame into glory.
I remember, I repeated in JSS2 but by the second term, I was made the class captain of the class and by JSS 3, I ended up as the head boy of the school. When I repeated I was in shame but when I became a class captain, I was in glory. When I became the head boy, I was in greater glory.
A Pastor who gathers people under a shed will expect to get out of that place. Some members can't be proud of that church. Some may find it difficult to invite their friends to church. But when the church now gets a site, completes the building, gets instruments and buses, now those who couldn't tell their friends about their church would be on the neck of their friends to attend their church. Why? Things have changed. They can now be proud of their church. Whatever you are not proud of is shame.
God can cover shame. He covers shame with glory. If you are in any form of shame, you just need the Lord to cover you with His glory. God can move you out of any form of shame you are in and push you into glory.
You remember that Joseph was later moved into the palace to see the king. He was moved out as a prisoner to become a prime minister.
4. Those Who Move from Glory to Glory
These are people who are already in glory but keep moving from one level of glory to a higher level of glory.
For example, a landlord is already in glory but when such has more houses or gets an estate, such moves from one degree of glory to a higher degree of glory.
A minister who could only preach and teach in the past but now begins to operate in the healing anointing is one who has moved into a higher level of glory.
Moving from glory to glory suggest that it is only good things and great things that are permitted to happen in your life.
Of the life of Joseph, when he went up to become the prime minister, he never returned back into shame again. He remained in glory forever till he died. He remained the prime minister till he died. He remained in authority and prosperity till he died. That is what moving from glory to glory means.
You may need to pray now:
1. My Father, push me out of shame into glory.
2. My Father, in your mercy, start moving me from glory to glory.
3. My Father, your mercy, let me not return back to shame again.
